Radio Active #73: The Cold Touch of Autumn

by Ken Newquist / October 15, 2008

[img_assist|nid=2708|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=125|height=125]The kids are getting over colds and we've got another round of home improvement under our belts as Nuketown Radio Active returns for more adventures in geek parenting. In this episode I've got a run down the video games I'll playing over the next few weeks, I take a look at Green Ronin's new Wizards and Warlocks role-playing game and find kindergartners playing chess with spaceborne astronauts. Rounding out the show is a review of Apple's iPod touch, the one geeky gadget that could conceiveably replace my trusty black iPod...

I'd love this itunes alternative to work on my iphone but pandora shows me an ip-generated screen saying it's terribly sorry but they can't afford to offer the service outside of USA anymore.

Ah well. Podcast support in 2.2 upgrade means I can grab SOME new content over the air.

So, the iTouch is a work machine.

That mean you have to give it back soon? How will THAT feel? Addicted yet? It took this iPDA naysayer about a week to admit I was hooked.

Damn, that's too bad about Pandora. I don't listen to it every day, but it is a great break from the ordinary. I'm the Guardian of the iPod Touch at work, so I expect I'll be using it for the near future (though primarily for work stuff; I only have a handful of music and podcast tracks loaded on to it).

That said, when the time comes to upgrade my own iPod, I'm defintely going to get a Touch of my own. That is, unless that rumored Mac tablet is released first...
