Greyhawk Grognard

Posted in by Kenneth Newquist on Mon, 08/11/2008 - 8:51am

A blog about delving into the depths and unexplored corners of the World of Greyhawk, with occasional sidetrips into war gaming, movies, and gaming life. I've particlarly enjoyed the posts about DMing into the Depths of the Oerth", Yav Xeret's Whistle of Ill Luck and the rundown of Grekyhawk miniatures (I didn't even know Greyhawk had it's own mini line).

Horrorhack's Library of the Damned

Posted in by Kenneth Newquist on Thu, 07/24/2008 - 6:40pm

Horrorhack’s Library of the Damned is a blog by horror author and librarian Rebecca Brock that intends to discuss everything horror: books, movies, writing, hand-knit replicas of Freddy Kruger's knife gloves, you name it.

Posts have dissected the mediocre horror of M. Night Shyamalan (I disagree on her opinions of The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, but the rest is spot on, Tori Spelling staring in a Cthulhu movie, and one particularly peculiarly evil poster of a boy eating pork and beans. It's a new blog, but it looks to be off to a good, weird start.

Home of the dire shark, UncleBear.com's been published since the mid-1990s in one form or another. The site's changed a lot over the years, but it remains true to its geek (or rather, post-geek) core, offering essays, commentary, and news about all the things that geeks love. Regular features include reviews of bad movies, the Random News Table collecting game and geek headlines from around the web, and posts about long-running game development projects like the light-weight RPG Imagination's Toybox and the generic espionage game DoubleZero.

Liberating Our Heritage

Posted in by Kenneth Newquist on Fri, 07/07/2006 - 8:58pm

A blog by libertarians working for a think tank in D.C. The catch? They're also working along side social conservatives who don't always agree with their cool and froody libertarian views.
