Iron Skies Trailer

by Ken Newquist / June 9, 2010

Iron Skies is a low budget, Finnish comedy about the Nazi invasion of Earth (said space Nazis having fled the planet at the end of World War II, created a base on the moonn, and spent the last few decades plotting their revenge). The trailer looks cool, and it just calls out for a Savage Worlds setting to complement it.

The trailer looks awesome. I wish I had the money to help support this endeavour. It seems they only want investments of $1000 or more. Does Nuketown have that kind of cake?

The cake is a lie.

Even if the cake wasn't a lie [digs through pockets] I think Nuketown has about $5 in its slush fund. :)

I find it odd that they're not trying to crowd source with smaller denominations. The Dispora Project raised $200,000. Based on the Kickstarter page, about $14,000 of that came from $10 donations, and about $65,000 came from the $25 range. Meanwhile, there were only five $1,000 backers.

Meanwhile the e20 project (a Star Wars: Saga Edition successor) pulled in $14,606, also through small donations. I don't know what these guys are looking for, but it seems to me that if you give fans something to rally around, well, they'll rally. :)
