Just in time for Halloween, Betrayal at House on the Hill has been resurrected from the dead by Avalon Hill/Hasbro. This collaborative board game involves an ever-changing board that players explore together, each taking on the roll of an iconic horror film protagonist. At some point one of the game's numerous "haunts" kicks in, at which point one player is possessed/goes insane/turns into a ghost/whatever, and begins actively working against his/her former cohorts. It's a fun, fast-playing game that's been out of print for several years, but happily it's back again. According to the Avalon Hill web site, the new edition features:
- The Haunt books have been refreshed with 8 new haunts – some of which feature a new “hidden traitor” game mechanic.
- The Item cards have been updated with 5 new items!
- The die-cut game play tokens have been redesigned making them easier to identify.
- Exciting and compelling new art and design on the box.
