There are definitely lessons to be learned; print on demand and PDF publishing were discussed somewhat at the "Small Press and the Internet' session at Balticon, but I didn't get the same sense of innovation and experimentation that I get from the role-playing market (e.g. small PDF publications vs. large ones, ransom publishing).
