Hey, welcome back!

I agree -- the lack of support for Battlestar Galactica, even in the form of a basic web site, is disappointing. I don't subscribe to the theory that you need an entire line of books to support a game -- BSG works well enough as a standalone that I don't feel a compelling need to buy more reference materials -- but at the same time it's important to have a good site to serve as a touchstone for the community.

For the first six months that the game was out, the web site was non-existent. Now, like you said, it's just an ad. If nothing else, it should have a forum (or links to active fan forums),and PDF downloads of character sheets and errata; that's the minimum level of support, IMHO.

I don't know if they just don't have the resources to build out the site, or are having issues with the licensee about building supplemental content, but either way the lack of a solid web site hampers the game.

Fortunately, there is CortexSystemRPG.org, which is a fan forum that hosts a lot of the conversations you'd expect to find on an official site.
