We usually manage to get ours down by about 8pm (they are about a year behind your two Ken, i.e. 3 1/2yrs and 7 months).
I don't know what will happen when our second starts toddling!
Unfortunately I have about a 50 minute commute, so I don't get home from work until 5.50-6pm. I really appreciate the effort my wife puts in as, even when the boys are playing up she always manages to get dinner on the table (something she insists on, I never expect it!). So I try to take over completely with the kids from 6pm till bed-time.
