First let me say, I'm a huge fan of New X-Men and would recommend it. But I'm a bit bias as I like teen-teams.
As for Messiah Complex, I went into it very upset. I had been purchasing all the x-titles for four months prior to this storyline to pick up the full Endangered Species story. I wasn't happy with the prospect of buying all the titles for another four months. But I have been pleasantly surprised.
I had the complete opposite reaction to what you did. The second I saw read Bishop turning on the child I was hooked. While I agree it does not ring true to his character, I love the fact that this event is so huge that it could change someone so by-the-book! I also like the fact that someone out manipulated Mr. Sinister. While I agree he's most likely not gone for good... it was great to see.
I won't get into what happens in the final issue, but I will say this series has put my love of the x-titles at a new high. I can't wait to see the outfall!
