The Innsmouth Horror expansion for Arkham Horror -- my Birthday/Christmas present from my family -- arrived today.

Clearly I've only just begun to explore the frontiers of gingerbread construction, especially geeky gingerbread construction.

The kids and I built our annual gingerbread houses on Sunday, using gingerbread house kits from Wegman's and candy from the remains of our Halloween horde. You can find the full photo gallery (with annotations) on Flickr.

The Blackrazor Guild -- my local gaming group -- has had a web site since 1997. It's gone through many iterations over that time, usually in tandem with some project I needed to research at work (being a gamer means never wanting for large reams of test data for web apps).

The site's known as The Griffin's Crier, and for the longest time it was the archive for our Dungeons & Dragons campaign. However, over the last few years our group's changed. Our primary campaign's now Star Wars, half the group is blogging, and we've created a small galaxy of spin-off sites supporting our different efforts.

The GriffCrier needs to reflect these changes. To that end, I'm redesigning the site using Drupal. The new site will serve as a gathering point for our various interests; it will include campaign and group news, links to the latest blog posts from group members (using the Feed API and Views modules), and serve as a jumping off point to our various wikis, web sites, and forums.

My gaming group has upped its presence in the blogsphere with two new blogs. Minis Like Dust by my friend Damon is dedicated to collecting and painting miniatures.

Forget the cheerleader; Heroes needs to save itself. Defying all logic, the television series about everyday people with superpowers has succeeded in getting second chance after second chance, winning back audiences with each new season only to lose them again by season's end. Here's what Heroes needs to do to save itself.

I've re-enabled open commenting on Nuketown (meaning posts will be posted without being pre-screened). The Mollom module for Drupal has been doing an admirable job catching spam and I think it's up to the task.

We'll see what actually happens; if we get a major spam attack that Mollom can't handle, I'll have to fall back to the "must authenticate to post without approval" stance I've had since June.
